Residential Care
Help with everyday living, with the comforts of home.
Residential care is for older people who find managing at home difficult, but don’t need day-to-day nursing. Carers are on hand around the clock to help with washing, dressing, medication, meals and getting about — while residents keep as much independence as they want.
It often suits someone who has become isolated, is struggling with housework or personal care, has had a fall, or is no longer safe living alone. Residents have their own room, meals cooked each day, company and activities, and family who are welcome any time.

Nursing Care
Everything residential care offers, plus qualified nurses on site.
Nursing care provides all the support of residential care, with the addition of registered nurses on hand day and night. It is for people with more complex or changing health needs — conditions such as Parkinson’s, diabetes or the after-effects of a stroke, wounds, continence needs, or anyone who needs regular clinical care.
A registered nurse oversees medication and health, working alongside GPs and other healthcare professionals, so a loved one can be cared for in a homely setting rather than a hospital.

Dementia Care
Specialist, person-centred support for people living with dementia.
Dementia care is specialist support for people living with Alzheimer’s or another form of dementia. In calm, familiar surroundings, a trained team helps reduce confusion and anxiety, keeps daily life structured and reassuring, and supports each person’s remaining abilities and sense of self.
Good dementia care comes down to truly knowing the person — their history, their routines and the things that bring them comfort — and meeting them exactly where they are, every day.

Respite Care
Short stays — for recovery, a trial of care, or a carer’s break.
Respite care is a short stay in a care home, from a few days to a few weeks. Families use it to recover after a hospital stay or illness, to try care home life before making a longer-term decision, or simply to give a family carer a well-earned rest.
Respite residents receive exactly the same care, meals, activities and warm welcome as permanent residents — subject to availability.

Palliative Care
Comfort, dignity and quality of life at the end of life.
Palliative and end-of-life care focuses on comfort, dignity and quality of life when someone is approaching the end of their life. The team works to manage pain and symptoms, support emotional and spiritual needs, and care for the family too.
It means a loved one can stay somewhere familiar, surrounded by people who know them, rather than moving to hospital in their final weeks.
